Wow. Let that settle in.
Even the depths of God???!!!
Those of you who missed the talk by Fr. Michael Raschko (retired professor of theology and graduate of St. Therese School) given in our very own social hall last week missed a wonderful talk about the history of the Church and the tug between reform and conservatism, starting with St Matthews’ revisions of St Mark.
As a systematic theologian, Father began his talk with the Trinity but he started not with the Father but with the Spirit. He noted that the Eucharistic prayer starts with the celebrant asking God to send down the Spirit that the bread and wine may become Body and Blood. The Spirit is sometimes called the “forgotten member of the Trinity”. Let us not forget her.
Your Stewardship Commission will initiate our plan this spring. On February 23 we will host our first Welcome Counter near the south entrance. The counter will have the Annual Report, ministry information, registration forms and much, much more. We are looking for hosts! Your really do not need to have intimate knowledge of all parish programs. You just need to welcome people and show what literature is available. If you are interested in helping, please contact John Russell at jvrussell85@gmail.com.
