Join our Parish Family for a wonderful Mass full of gratitude! Please bring two items of food if you are able, one to benefit the Food Bank @ St. Mary's and one to be blessed for your table. Our offertory collection will also go to the Food Bank.
Giving Trees will be set up in the vestibules of both St. Joseph and St. Therese churches. Take a tag from the tree, buy the gift specified on the tag, attach the tag (firmly!) to the gift and bring it back to the tree by no later than December 15! Ten organizations have agreed to participate (see list in full details below).
Through the ages, across many cultures, there have
been numerous depictions of Mary, the Mother of Jesus,
through visual art, sculpture, literature and architecture.
Similarly, in music, over the centuries, Mary has been
venerated and celebrated in a treasury of Marian hymns
-- from Ave Maria to the majesty of the Bach Magnificat.
As so, in our season, you are invited to a contemporary
Gospel Jazz Choral Celebration of the Canticle of Mary:
"The Gospel Magnificat" by Seattle composer, Kent Stevenson.
Centerpiece of the concert is the multi-faith chorus, accompanied
by an 8 piece jazz ensemble, with guest choir conductors, narrator
and choreography.
In addition to the gospel and jazz elements, the concert music
also embraces a palette to include the jubilee spiritual, blues,
Middle Eastern themes and Brazilian rhythms.
